JEFF NORTON

Jeff Norton's legal career has been focused on advising international high-tech companies.

Mr. Norton served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of NextPoint Networks, Inc. from its creation in the acquisition of Reef Point Systems by NexTone Communications, Inc. in January 2008 until it was sold to GENBAND Inc. in September 2008. Mr. Norton guided NexTone through its acquisition of Reef Point Systems through the fall of 2007 and served as a key member of NextPoint's executive team after the merger as NextPoint restructured the company, identified a strategic buyer, and negotiated a very favorable sale to GENBAND. Mr. Norton joined NexTone in July 2004.

Prior to joining NexTone, Mr. Norton headed the legal department at Visual Networks, a publicly-held provider of service level management solutions for frame relay networks. Before Visual Networks, he was an attorney for Primark Corporation's Financial Information Division (including Yankee Group, Disclosure and Datastream), a premier publicly-traded global provider of financial information.

Mr. Norton served as an editor on the International Law Review of American University. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Mr. Norton received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Finance and International Business from Ohio State University. He received his law degree from Washington College of Law at American University.

 

LINDA AMBERT

Linda Ambert comes to The Norton Law Firm with over twenty-five years of legal experience.

Among her numerous roles in various legal departments were fifteen years in the Legal Department at Bell Atlantic/Nynex, where she ended as a Staff Director; her years as a senior paralegal for publicly-traded firms including a provider of financial information and analysis and a telecommunications equipment provider, for which she was responsible for various SEC filings; and her management of the Legal Department for a venture-backed technology startup. Additionally, she obtained corporate governance experience working directly for the Board of Directors of a not-for-profit organization in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Ambert has a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York.
